I recently purchased an 04 Tahoe LS 2wd and drove fine first 2 days then starting making a slight grinding noise, off and on randomly which has gotten a little worse starting to make more noise...
I thought the noise was coming g from. Rear passenger tire, I was thinking it might be the parking brake failed (parking brake doesn't work at all)

So I pulled tire and rotor and caliper and hub to check the shoe and brackets and shoe seemed a little loose. Put it back together and noise it still there but now sounds like it's on the driver's side... Area

I'll try and post video of the sound.. as well as pictures of passenger rear parking brake show

Here's link to video of the sound

Are you sure it's not the hub(s)? Is there any play in the wheel top to bottom?

Found the problem... It was the Parking break shoe on the driver's side... Looks like it disintegrated leaving no pad on the shoe... And just left pieces to roll around and make weird sounds

Ran to AutoZone and got a shoe kit and hardware and changed both sides... Still need to adjust parking break.. doesn't seem to be working
