That's an inspection cover, soaked with a fluid leak. I'm actually surprised how dry that crossmember below it is compared to everything else above it.
Thank you, should the round thing have play in it. When I touch it, it moves up and down.

Yes. There is play in it, it's a cover that can come off for inspection of flywheel etc. Made to be taken off and then re-installed.

Yes, it does have play in it. That is normal.
looks like a possible rear main leak, take that inspection plate cover off and look up in there with a flashlight and tilt mirror and see if the oil is coming from the center of the rear of the engine, if it is dry up in there then the leak is from somewhere else such as the oil pan seal or oil filter adapter plate, valve covers, etc

Yes, either a rear main leak or something further up like valve covers or oil pressure sender.

I am no stranger to that for sure. I kinda miss dumping a half quart in every weekend. Feel spoiled now.

It could also be the oil pan leaking where it joins the transmission bell housing. There are areas on the two rear corners where RTV is required or the gasket may have failed. I would clean everything up then inspect after a couple of days as it's rather difficult to identify the source with that much oil residue.
Usually where the oil cooler lines mount to the side of the engine/pan above the oil filter (some have a block-off plate there if they don't have an external oil cooler) is the first spot to leak. Rear main leaks are less common than that one. If you pop that cover out and it's dry behind it you know it's probably not area main seal leak.
