My '03 Yukon has a basic stock sound system installed (no bells & whistles). I'm going to install an Alpine HU (IDA-X305S) and digital Amp (PDX-F4). I blew my ***$, and will have to wait to install performance speakers at a later time.

My question is: WHERE do I install the Amp? It needs to dissipate heat, so it needs to be where air can get to it. I think that the best place would be under the seats, but I know there's electronics under the front seats, so mounting it might be a problem. Are under the back seats the only alternative? Has anyone done this b4? I could use some advice...

x2. Thats gonna be th best way to have it stealthy. If not, you could always screw it to the back of your seat aswell so its mounted securely.....the rear seats of course

Thanks, you all have solidified my thinking. I never thought about a mounting board. This is my first time on this forum. Before I knew it my question was posted and Here I was in the 2007 and newer forum. ...didn't have the patience to figure out how to delete it.

you wont even need a mounting board. put it under the back left seat on half inch plastic risers to keep the heat down. (one per screw)
