Pitman arm trouble

Ok I'm having a hard time getting the pitman arm to seat all the way it should. I've taken it off dozens of times still not going on all the way. 6 foot cheater bar even. What am I doing wrong

Double check that you have the correct part number. Some versions have a slight internal taper that is hard to see unless you look very closely and that won't fit on a non tapered application. I ran into this once and it drove me crazy until I had it explained to me.

Glad to help. Aren't forums like this great?!! Most parts people have no working knowledge of what they are selling. I think it's a function of everything being computerized. The counter guy gets basic information on your vehicle and slings you the first box off the shelf not knowing Jack $hit about what he's selling you!!

You get home and spend hours of your off time trying to save a few bucks DIY only to find out later they sold you the wrong part. Sure...they cheerfully refund your money or exchange for the correct part...but who pays for your time and aggravation? No body...you eat it !!!

If you to have some fun with one of these parts store geniuses go in and ask for an Air Filter Element for a 1983 Corvette. He'll never find it ....there was no 1983 Corvette !!!
