Here are some install pics of my avic-z120 bt. I will take some more soon. A friend of mine helped me with this install. (by helped, I mean he did the install and I asked stupid questions while I watched him) We hid the mic for the blue tooth calls behind the rearview mirror. I will get a Picture of that latter. We installed a backup cam to go with. My Invision headrests would not work with new hu and I did not know that. I was a little bummed to learn that, but I have them up on eBay right now, and hopefully I can get enough out of them to buy new ones.

It took a little bit to get the bypass (so the passenger can watch movies while I drive) but I was able to finally get it after 3 or 4 times

Looks good. Nice work. Feels good saving yourself a few hundred bucks by not having to pay an install shop, eh?

I'm curious to hear how well the mic works when blocked by the RV mirror. Mine is at the top of the A-pillar and I have enough problems with it.

Do you know specifically why the headrest monitors don't work?

I paid $200 to get the same screen installed but with all the goodies (xm/rear cam/msn direct/hd radio/pac swi-ps/pac os-4). I've installed screens and systems in my previous vehicles but the guy I paid to do it does such a clean install and knows it like the back of his hand because he works at one of the bigger local audio stores around town. Looks like you know what you are doing though, looks great!

thanks guys. :Handshake: it was a lot of fun to install. i learned a lot. We did both of the pac harnesses as well. i did not do the xm or msn because i did not want the extra cost. to buy this unit at best buy it was going to run close to $1400 with out the back up cam. then they wanted $200 for the install, then another $20 to install the bluetooth then another $20 to run the ipod cable. It wasnt worth in to me. I think i came close to $1400 for the entire install including the pac os 4, pac swi ps, the ipod cable, Pioneer ND-BC4 backup camera, and av cables ran to the invision control panel that does not allow external inputs. I also gave my buddy $100 for his help. bryanfeelsgood, the reason the headrests didnt work is because the invision headrests just work with each other. they do not have an input other than each other. so after spending what i did on the hu my wife said i have to sell the invisions first. :emotions122: oh well. felixgun. i think the $200 was a very wise move. tahoes cost a little to much money to try and learn something new on. thats why i asked for help from a friend. my wife would have most defiantly divorced me had i tore the hoe apart and not been able to put it back or broke stuff. :) also considering all the goodies he put in. you would have spent another $100 somewhere else.

Bummer, I'm sure we could have figured out a way to make 'em work. Oh well. Makes sense though, this stuff isn't cheap. (That's why I'm still rocking my p3100dvd I paid $400 for 2 years ago....)

LOL. I had an AVIC-D2 in my nbs z71 tahoe and loved it. HAD to get an updated version though... the z110/120 kills the AVIC D/N/Z series!

Well they are not gone yet, but if I get what I want for them I will be buying some 12 inch monitors. These are 7ish inch.

The mic looks pretty good. Clean install. You'll have to let us know how the picture looks on those monitors.

The PAC might be a little overkill. Not sure what you'd need 6 video outputs for, but I'm sure it'll get the job done.

GO DUCKS!

So here is the link to the site I ordered them from.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_25382_Absolute-COM1210IR-Gray-Priced-Individually.html
I changed my quantity to two, therefore thinking I would get two of the same color and to my surprise I got two way different shades of gray. That being said I didn't think that any of the colors they had would match anyways, so I went to a local upholstery shop and got quoted $50 a headrest to rewrap. My wife is getting that done for me for fathers day!!!!! We took a family vacation to Denver and will get that done when we return home. I will get pictures of the two different colors and the install.

As for the write up i promised 5 years ago, or so it feels like 5 years since I have had a chance to get on here. (it has been a very busy few weeks) The quality is ok. I have seen better, but it's a tv in a car. It is more than good enough for my 2 and 4 year old girls. I shopped and shopped for big screens for the hoe, and this was the biggest I could find. And for $300 for a set, I will buy from them again, when I am ready to buy more. They are not tilt headrests which I thought, I don't care about very much. Well I tilt my chair back a bit and it is pretty close to my daughters face, but she hasn't said a word about it. They were very simple to install. I will get pictures up this week. I hope this helps those that are looking to get some. I will even try to get a video of them.

Looks like you are using PAC OS4. I am having a problem with my driver door speaker and some times the rear door speakers not working. Keep an ear on your driver door speaker and see if sound doesn't come out of it some times. It is alittle difficult to notice at first.

Let me know, I e-mailed PAC and they said to give them a call, but I havent called yet.

Well if someone activates the audio to the rear console headphone jacks it will shut off the rear speakers. If not, then they work all the time. At least in mine it does.
