I have replaced several of the oil sensors but I am older and it takes time. I have a Top Creeper which allows me to lay over the engine top and look down on this job while in comfort. Helps a lot. The exact combination of socket and swivel plus extension takes as long to get right as removing the sensor. If my memory was better I would know what to grab for tools. I have been able to use my standard deep sockets which are Impact sockets and they worked. A thin wall would be easier but I don't own one.

Being able to get back there and have an eye on the job will save you a lot of time. A sheet of plywood would do it fine if in the right size. Once you buy a Top Creeper it will get used a lot.

It definitely sweeps when the key is turned on or off. Off=zero. On=80, no bounce, no change when the engine starts. Turn off the key and back to zero, on back to 80.
I have an 04 Tahoe. Found someone close to me and traded my cluster for a rebuilt one. Plus cash. All new stepper motors and leds in the cluster. But the cheaper way is get a AcDelco pressure sensor and replace it. The also sell a pigtail for it.

My gauges in my 03 Yukon went wonky. There is a guy in Stockton CA that rebuilds them completely for $150. Did a great job and they never acted up again. This guy advertised on Craigslist. Might be worth a check.
