Where is the sensor that tells whether the passenger door is open or not? is it behind the door panel?

my truck thinks that the pass door is open from time to time and sets off the alarm if it's locked or if i'm driving it will start to freak out with the dome light and locks.

reading more, it seems like it might be the door sensor within the door latch.

does your chime go off if you open the pass door with the truck running? mine didn't use to, only the driver's side would.

no. i think only when the truck is off with the keys in the ignition and i open the driver side door i get a chime. it could also be your main window switch thats what controls the lock/unlock doors. if you unplug it you wont get a chime and wont give u any msgs of any doors open even when there fully open.

also the sensor uses ground to give the signal witch is why i mention it might be a ground problem.

where could i check to see if it's the ground? i got in this morning and started it up and it said the door was open. opened and closed it and all seemed fine. turned the truck off tonight and the RAP didn't stay on. truck thought that a door was open.
