Parrot Asteroid Smart

Just installed the Parrot Asteroid Smart in my 2007 Tahoe. I couldn't find any installed pics in our trucks before i bought it so hopefully this helps someone out with their decision. I'm really happy with it thus far but im rooted and im side loading Google market apps. Still need to hook up a portable hard drive, dvd player and some other tweaks but i should have it all done within the next week or two. Note; you will loose steering wheel controls but they will probably get that ironed out soon enough. Honestly i dont miss them so it really doesnt bother me.

Oh and dont be mislead by the reviews. They didnt root the unit and that makes a big difference. I can side load almost anything from the Google play store like google maps and torque app, etc. The flexibility is second to none when it comes to head units.

Just an update..... I started tethering from my phone so I'm now running Waze navigation which warns me about cops on the highway plus red light and speed cameras. This is the best navigation I ever used and it was free from the Asteroid market. I'm also able to download videos from YouTube with Tubemate which saves them to my sd card. I'm streaming Howard Stern for free as well. My only gripe is I wish the display was bigger but it's a worthy trade off for all the functionality and the measly 500 bucks it cost me.
