Paint oem rusty keys or ok?

Before I find a shop to slap my Oem keys back in should I repaint?

Northern Ca so no snow, only had 80k when removed so I guess factory just doesn’t coat them good?

It's just surface rust so painting would just be for appearance. They're solid iron so it's not like they're gonna rust away.
