Here's a crappy ass picture of us hooking up the ropes to Jeff's poor ass truck to tow it over to his bro's house. We tried like hell to start it when we got it there, but it just wouldn't stay up long enough to drive it into the garage. I think they got it up the driveway and into the garage by pushing it with a tire on the bumper with the Ford Expedition - I had a prior gentlemen's club appointment so I had to bail

The 6.0 is off to the right in the pic - hard to see though sorry.

And so it begins...
My Lingenfelter/Comp Cams bumpstick and springs just arrived. I'll be throwing the cam in tomorrow once I get off work and swapping over the accessories to the new motor.
I haven't had time to pull the old 5.3 out yet, so I'll be doing that tomorrow as well and try to have the 6.0 up and running by Sun evening if all goes well. If not, at least no later than Monday.

Damn JK, you move fast!!! All my learning opprotunities are passing me by...

I guess I should, it's about to go up on stands for a couple months while I complete the interior mod I promised in the Interior section. I'm actually here in Austin learning about cams, figured I might as well put one in while its disabled in my garage

idk if youve pulled a motor from the nbs yet, but it sucks lol..

took me all afternoon/night to get the bellhoulsing bolts and torque converter bolts out along with unhooking all the wires..and also the ****** drain plug on the trans pan stripped after one turn lol..******** aluminum bolts..

im hopin to get the 6.0 in today if all goes wellwe shall see..good luck to you as well

I replaced a 6.0 in one of my buddy's Silverado last year. Wasn't too bad. But yea, as with most engine swaps, getting to the top trans bolts and tc bolts is usually one of the worst parts.
Good luck on your swap too bro. Keep us updated on how it goes.

Haven't had a chance to really do anything yet. I went to work Sat for a few hours and went home feeling like crap and just laid down the rest of the day. I just barely woke up a little while ago and still feel like crap, though not as bad. Hopefully I'll feel good enough later this afternoon to get started.

What a crappy weekend. I stayed in bed most of the day Sat afternoon and Sunday feeling like crap. I was hoping to have the motor in by today, but obviously that isn't happening. At least I have some cool brothers that share the same interests as I do. Two of them went ahead and pulled the old motor out for me yesterday. So today I'll probably install the cam into the new motor and swap over all the accessories and get it ready to install this weekend.
