Old style, non J hook blade preference?

I have an 08 with the older weird clips on my wipers, they seem to be finicky on the blade brand to avoid excessive chatter in light rain.

Any solid recommendations before I throw in the towel and buy the new style arms? Thanks

Yeah, that goofy hook style is a PITA. On my 2007 i had good luck with Trico and Bosch. I used Rain-X in a pinch once but they don’t last. In the selection guide at Autozone, I think they show two styles of hooks on the ‘08’s. Fortunately on my 2013, it’s a Standard j-hook.

Theres a period I guess GM got creative. I think theres an old TSB to replace with J hooks, but not for free
My wife stopped at an O’reillys once with our 2007 and the store manager couldn’t figure out how to even remove the old wiper so he basically busted it into pieces and got it off, then he couldn’t figure out how to get the new one on. Fortunately he did this to the passenger side. He said maybe your husband can figure it out and wrapped the end of the arm with duct tape and sent her in her way home. I couldn’t believe it.

I'll give Bosch a try, rain-x are on now and are terrible. I had some a few years ago that were great, I dont think they are made anymore, none of the boxes or names ring a bell

I think they only did that on ‘07 and ‘08 and maybe ‘09. Can’t remember what my ‘09 Suburban had. Didn’t have it that long. My ‘13 has what your picture shows thankfully.

I am not sure why anyone would change a great design... the side clip ones I have just aren't as rigid. Thankfully blades are not any more expensive. would be ok on a car, but 22" blades have too much length to control with that syle.

Will give it another go on bosh blades, they are on sale at Advance... if not, will go to the junkyard and pull some j hooks off something. The paint is all faded on the arms too, may look like crap after my first northern winter.

They are a 07-mid 08 design.

24" wipers :D

Michelin wiper silicone

super super easy to install even a cave man can do it..

Can't beat the wipe look close on the passenger side

they are pretty great look how cleanly they cut threw the snow like a razor blade.

Yep! They are some kind of special. My 2007 and 2008 Denali had them.
i don't have them Built jan 2008 I have the J hook

Could be a weather based regional thing?

it's I&l hook wiper type

just get the Michelin Advanced silicone they come with all the adapters ..

22" for both i would not use two 24" unless you have the j hook type

very simple to put on and take off
it actually took more time to get the old ones off because of the crap design..

install only took a few min

Bosch Icons, 22" were installed PN 22OE. Night and day difference immediately, will keep the non J hooks for the forseeable future, especailly when the Bosch blades are on sale for $18 each at Advance.
