Hello all. Hoping all the gurus here can help me out! Getting ready to replace my 2016 Denali Magneride suspension all the way around. Already purchased the OEM shocks from RockAuto, and also went ahead a bought new springs front and rear too. Figured might as well replace the springs, since they were not too pricey compared to what I'm already dropping.

I bought GM 23312162 for front, and GM 23152539 for rear. My understanding is that the colors painted on the end of the springs are used for ratings, sizing, etc. I'm confused because I figured each new set/pair would be the same, but they are not. See images. Also attached my RPO codes if it helps. Why wouldn't the color markings be the same? Is it an issue?

Thanks!!
Kevin

It may be as simple as different manufacturers use different colors. To be honest your springs should be fine absent rust or damage. Pop the old springs on your new struts up front and leave the rear alone. This way you’ll know for certain you have the right springs. If you replace them you can compare spring height of both when the old is off the struts

Yeah, these are OEM from RockAuto, but agreed in that it may be as simple as manufacturing markings. From *oogleFi searching, it appears that at least there are references to colors on the springs meaning something. I was hoping a GM mechanic or pro might have some sage advice!

Agreed in that the original springs are likely still good. I just decided that since I was dropping just shy of 2K on replacing all the Magnerides, another 160-ish wasn't that big a deal. I will have to remove and reinstall springs for the fronts anyways, so, might as well put new in, keep the old for backups in case needed later on.
