Odb2 connection dead

I have a 2004 Tahoe LT I plugged a usb device into my cig lighter and smoke started pouring out vent instead of blowing fuse it melted wires I went to get a Inspection and discovered odb2 port was out also no melted wires but replacing fuse blows the fuse does anyone know of a way around this ?

disconnect the melted wires going to the cigarette lighter (drivers side) it shares the same fuse as the obd2 port, so unless you can get that fuse working you wont have communication to the obd2, you'll probably have to pull the radio and a/c controls to get behind the cigarette port and either cut the melted part out or just disconnect it and buy a new harness for it, it will be helpful if you have a multi meter to check where it is shorted at.
