At highway speeds and when accelerating I notice my noise cancellation kicks in or turns off randomly. Is there a connection point I need to check if its loose?

you need a scanner that can read the bcm codes to find out where the issue is, could be a bad mic, bad connection, or something else. If it is failing somewhere there will be a code saved (this kind of code does not make the cel light up). If you are friendly with the dealer you might be able to get them to read it for you and not charge you, not sure if onstar would pick it up or not with a diagnostic. At highway speeds and when accelerating I notice my noise cancellation kicks in or turns off randomly.
