Ok, I want to change my factory head unit (in a 2000 Yukon) to a Jensen 7" flip out unit that I have. I won't be needing the rear controls in the center console, so I just unplugged them.... After have major issues with the Jensen head unit, I reinstalled the factory head unit until a later date. I had already fabed up filler plates for both the Tape Deck and the Rear Control panel in the center console, so I just left them out. After reinstalling the factory unit..... no sound in the rear speakers. I plugged back in the rear controls and now it works fine. So what do you have to do to bypass/ delete the rear control panel in the center console. I'm hoping that has something to do with the lack of sound that i got when installing the Jensen unit. Any suggestions??? I bought the wiring harness the book told me to, GM01 I believe. Is there a different one because of the rear controls????

Someone will probably chime in with a better solution. I had the same problem, so plugged the rear controls back in and place the entire unit under the console. I did not feel like tracing down the exact wires so this was quick and dirty. I haven’t had any problems since. I put my DTV tuner in the open space that was left by removing the rear controls.

Got the head unit working but still have to leavre the rear controls plugged in...... Oh well, probably just drop it inside the console and hide it.
