So I'm just about ready to put together my new exhaust system and I noticed as i was transplanting my O2 sensor that my new magnaflow y pipe has no heat shield over the cat. I was thinking of using the old one but I'd need a cutout for the O2 Sensor. Any thoughts? Also, should I re-use the old O2 sensor?

Mind as well do a new one while you are there ... Make a cutout if you need one.

unknown at this time.
reuseing the old o2 should be fine assuming they are not broken. just see what happens. Ask magnaflow about the shield perhaps the design did not require it in this mod.

Interesting enough, I remember looking at the stock front Y-pipe and cats....they had no heat shield either. I'm wondering if there are heat shields on the floor pan itself. I just can't recall right now.

Thanks for all the input as always! I spoke to the tech at magnaflow and he said the heat shield isn't required on this one. Good enough for me!
