I hadn't seen anything I liked much until I spoke to these guys - http://www.lightwerkz.net/index.htm

Once I got a dialog going, they realized they had done an Avalanche already - http://www.lightwerkz.net/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=8317

So I am contracting with them to do a set. Not cheap, but the euro HIDs for my Jetta cost me more in '05! Not sure if they have to black out the outside of the bezels, but its growing on me... Killer cutoff!

I'm ordering an aftermarket set of headlights, they say they are far easier to get apart...

Depends on which projectors and options we finally decide on. The new aftermarket lights are 170. Their labor plus goodies makes it in the 1100 to 1200.00 range. That's still cheaper than the euro projector HID setup cost me 5 years ago for my Jetta TDI wagon.

A set of aftermarket (OEM style) lights is 160 bucks or so. They are supposed to be easier to separate. Then select your projectors and go to work. Big thing is to make darned certain you have both projectors right and tested before you JB Weld everything in place.

For me, I'm so darned picky with my own work on this sort of thing I would not be satisfied, so its far better and less stress to farm it out.

I find it funny - someone won't blink at a coupla grand for 22/24/26" rims not to mention tire cost, pay 40 to 50 grand for a new truck then throw a hissy at 1200 bucks for headlights (or 200 bucks for a nav disc)...

its all what you like and if you feel like what your spending and getting is worth it. i think those look great and im like you about doing my own work, i love to do it but am so picky about it i too would not be totally satisfied.

Reading up on their work and reviews, I have a feeling that you'll be satisfied. Post up your experience, I may want to try it myself since I've never been happy with the beam pattern on my HID's.
