Newb going 4/5-5.5

Hey guys, I've been lurking for a few days, but finally pulled the trigger on purchasing my Yukon. I came from Chevy full size forum, and have had lowered trucks in the past. But never an SUV.

I plan on going low. I quickly learned that this will be your problem from day 1.

I was on a budget, and planned for 2" keys, and 2" spindles up front. 3" springs, and 2-2.5" shackles out back. Free mod kit, and stock shocks/struts for now. Would eventually like air shocks, or helper bags.
Is the DJM end-links a must? Along with the hardware kit?

I'd like to read your suggestions. I've read about the torsion keys will make your ride a little rough?

spindles and keys up front will be a good start and decent ride. If you want 5" out back you will need 5" coils or tony's 6" coils(with spacers) 2000-2006 nbs models do not use shackles unless you have a obs 2000. Nbs need lower control arm relocator brackets and shorter sway bar end links to fully achieve a 5"-6" drop and you will need shorter shocks or the stock ones will hold you up as well. I also suggest a adjustable panhard bar as you rear end is going to shift and that will keep it centered.

You don't have shackles in the back, you just need a 5/6" spring.

Here's my old 04 Escalade on a 4-5 and everything is listed as far as what you will need for it to ride right

255 30 26 not bad at all. front just on top of fenders but its a short tire.

Could I run that kit with my stock tires? 275/65/16s

no due to running the 2 inch spindles you need min a 18 inch wheel. if you did my 3/5-6 kit then you can use the 16s. The djm 3 inch lower a arms can be used with 16 inch wheels.

Yea I was talking about the 3/6 kit. If I turn down the keys to about a 4/6 how bad will it rub with 275/65/16s?

Reason is, is that I want to do my drop kit before I get my 26s. So I will need to roll on stocks for a while with the drop.

This guy also said that he had his fender wells tubbed that's why he is able to tuck on the 5/6 kit

The 275 65 16 is a shorter tire then what he has on there. On 26s the rubbage will be on big dips with 3. You can always adjust the front higher if it gets to much thats what is good with this kit.

275 65 16 is 2 inches shorter then 255 30 26. Big difference I just wanted to show him how it would look.

Id do the 3/5-6 kit and then put a 26 inch wheel on there to fill up the fenderwells more. 255 look really narrow on these trucks the 295 25 26 looks a lot better.

I did 2/3 on 26s with 305/30/26 tires and I rub a lot front and rear. I haven't modded my liners or anything yet. Waiting to move into the new house with the big garage to tackle that.
