So I recently (within the last couple days) picked up a 2004 Tahoe Z71.

It has a few miles on it, but it cleans up nice. The thing runs great, no real issues. Doesn't leak and has minimal surface rust.

I was able to get outside and due a full(ish) detail on the exterior. Wash, clay, buff/cutt, seal, wax.

Also, completed the first couple changes with a debadge and hidden antenna.

Anyway, here are the pictures.

After the detail

Progress
Clayed/buffed/waxed half the hood to see the difference.

Future plans:
Now, I have to replace the front drivetrain (output shaft, front differential, half shafts, etc) since they are missing for some reason. I have to figure out what all I actually need and then purchase those.

I have to get into the rear axle to figure out if it has 3.73s or 4.10s. I know from the factory it has 4.10s but the bolts on the pumpkin are not factory (or doesn't look like it to me) and I am thinking that they may have pulled the 4.10s out, dropped the front drivetrain and swapped to 3.73s. I don't care either way, just need to figure which ones are there to get the correct front end.

It will then be lowered 3/5 while maintaining the 4wd.

I will probably run a 24" wheel with a 305/35 or 40 (leaning toward 35 due to my research here).

The front grille will be modified, most likely with a speed grille (street scene or I'll just make it).

The headlights will have a projector retrofit.

I plan to modify the lower turns to be the DRLs along with a sequential turn signal (if able to figure that one out)

The tail lights will be swapped for some red or red/tint LED lights along with the third brake light to match.

The roof rack will be nixed or swapped to a lower profile stock one.

Weathertech floor liners will be purchased and heated to fit acurately since they are the only ones to make all three. I'd love to run some lund carpet mats, but they only make the front and back seats.

The radio will be swapped along with a back up camera installed. Gotta figure out what is needed for the Bose system and steering wheel controls though.

For the engine, probably intake, headers, exhaust, plug, efan, tune, etc. Eventually, if everything goes well with the engine, a supercharger or a turbo but that is very doubtful since it won't be needed.

Welcome

:happy160:  I am liking your plans for your future mods.

You may want to do you research on a turbo, super charger is a pricey but better way. I am seeing more 6.0 swaps than anything else and much cheeper that the other two options.

I'll be doing a lot of research on this when the time comes IF I ever do something like that. A quick(ish) daily that looks good is the plan at the moment. There are much bigger fish to fry before that kind of performance upgrade congress though. lol
