Picked this up off Ebay, new takeout from a 2010 F150 crewcab. The inside is massive compared to any of the GM consoles I've seen. Also has front and rear cupholders with 12 volt acc. outlet in the back. I painted it with SEM to match the interior.

Interesting. My other half has a Ford F150 with that same console. Maybe time to take some measurements and scheme a bit. Tearing the stock console out and replacing it with pretty much *anything* else would be an improvement.

It's just sitting in there. It's a snug fit and the bottom is flat so I don't think I'm gonna mess with any brackets yet. Mine was originally a split bench so I didn't have anything factory to attach it to.

Ha yours is gonna be awesome, that's the console I originally wanted but it wasn't tall enough to be used an armrest for me.

Its a perfect fit for the buckets

Indeed. They can make a song about anything and are one of the greatest bands of all time IMO. :rocking:

I'm jealous! Now off to the pick and pull to find one!

Are you going to hook up the 12V power? If so are you going to splice into the existing cig lighter?

I was really jacked up to change my center console, but I have the 4x4 on the floor and couldnt find anything cool.

That is perfect! Can you post more pics of the fitment? I would like to be able to mount it, but was curious to see how flush it is to the floor.

Thanks!

wow thats awesome, time for me to start looking for one of thoes for my truck, cupholders are good because in my opinion only only one cup holder in my hoe actually can hold a drink sturdy....and its right infront of the vent so my drinks get warm haha, and more space is good, another 12v outlet? thats always good. like to know how you mount it too

I'm probably gonna run the 12 volt for acc. plug off the switched acc. terminal under the dash. My CB fits in the console and doesn't take up much of the useable space so they'll be wired together, I just gotta make a mounting bracket for the CB.

I'll try and get some more pics up of the fitment this weekend but in the meantime check out the Ebay ad that has better pics of the console itself. You can see how flat the bottom is so it can't really slide around.

Another thread where one was mounted in a NBS truck, his used a different mounting setup but is identical otherwise. The one I have doesn't have the small pockets in the floor, I believe it was meant to be mounted through the sides.

I ordered mine from that Ebay listing and the color appears to be a close match but once you get it in the truck it's waaay off. There's a pic up in my profile of how off it is. I had to but several different shades of the SEM to find a decent match, but ironically Ford 17063 was the closest for me. They do make the consoles in a grey so it may match a grey interior better than the tan did for me

I'll definitely post some more pics when I get the CB wired and installed though, thanks for the compliments.

Steam that looks sweet !!!

Thanks man!

Ok here's the rest of the install and the CB install

The bracket I made, I just cut a piece of 1x2 to length, cut of the end portion from the original mount and painted it black

Here's the console broken down without the trim panels and the lid removed. I just drilled some small holes and used some small self tapping screws to secure the bracket through the sides.

Hole drilled for coax, all this will be covered with the trim panels so it doesn't have to be perfect

Back together with the CB in

I still have plenty of room for whatever, and a shot of the lid that has a couple pen holders and a place for a tissue dispenser.

I didn't get a chance to get the wiring done for the CB and the rear 12 volt acc. but heres how I plan on doing that. For the rear mounted 12 volt acc the end will need to be cut off and the purple/red wire is the 12 volt side and the black/yellow is the ground

Gonna hook them up to a switched 12 volt on the fuse panel under the dash. There's 2 empty terminals here, the top is switched 12 volt and the bottom is 12 volt constant. I'll use an inline fuse since I don''t know exactly where the fuse for these terminals are

Eventually I'm gonna flush mount a speaker up into the overhead console and see if I can't extend the mic wires up to there also. I'll post back when I get all that done but at least I got the CB off the bottom of the dash. Gonna call it good enough for now

Not bad at all! I kinda like where you mounted the cobra. Mine is installed on a hump mount right where your stick comes through the floor.

One question though. When your drivers seat armrest is down, is it flush with the top of the console, or is the console higher?

It's ~3-4" taller than the armrest on the buckets.
It's the perfect height for me but may be uncomfortable for some guys. I'm 6'6" so I'd be slumped over in the seat with the factory armrests. The split bench was alot more comfortable to me but it was haggard looking when I got it. I scored the buckets for cheap so with this console I'm happy again.

Hey, thanks for the detailed reply. I"m five foot nothing and the seat armrest is perfect for me ha! So this mod is out for me, oh well. I'll keep looking.

I'm glad it works out for you. I still do like it! Looks good. It's one of the better looking/functional console's I've seen.

Thanks guys. :)
Ebay was the cheapest place I could find one since there aren't alot of these out there in the yards yet.

Haha it sucks being tall when it comes time to shop for a vehicle. It just dawned on me that I have the seat bottom tilted all the way back, if you don't have yours adjusted like this it won't be up that high. It's roughly 15" tall if you wanna measure it that way.

Ok, thanks. Good point on the seats being adjustable...dope!
I'll measure mine out today.
