Greetings everyone. Picked up an '06 Tahoe. I got it originally to yank the drivetrain and stick it in my '78 Suburban. The wife and I have fallen in love with it and it's too nice to do that to, so it's officially joined the fleet. 207k miles, runs great.

When I got it, the headliner was coming down just at the front by the windshield. Put it back up with some pins. Can't even see it. Fixed so far, front window tints, hatch lock actuator, oil pressure sensor, one DRL and one turn signal. I've got a trailer brake controller to install, new stereo and speakers coming, new hatch glass struts, new headlights, and a passenger seat heater. Also have new fog lights coming, and I have the parts to convert the dash 12v sockets and DLC to ignition power instead of constant.

So jealous that you have three seats in your front row! Nice.
Yeah, this thing is optioned almost exactly like I would've ordered it. 2wd, jump seat in the front, 3rd row, heavy duty tow package, 3.27 highway gears, G80 locker. The only thing I would've changed is OnStar. I would've gotten it without.

... heavy duty tow package, 3.27 ...
1st, those two are contradictory, as the tow package gears were 3.73 & 4.10 ...
2nd, can't presently afford 4.10, but I can barely tolerate 3.73 ...
3rd, forced to choose between 4.10 & a 3rd front seat, I'll take the latter. Getting old, I guess ...

See my RPOs above. As noted in the original post, I've also got a '78 Suburban. Once that's going again, it's got the towing capacity to pull around anything I might need that the Tahoe can't.

I meant 3.23. I have the RPO sticker still. GU5, G80, Z82.

Can barely tolerate 3.73, very strongly recommend 4.10.
If you drive assertively on the highway, highway MpG might go down - than again it might not 'cause it won't need to downshift to 3rd or 2nd as often.
Stop'n'go & city & towing MpG will improve, and the 4L60E will last longer between rebuilds.

I've got 4.10s in the race car, 3.73s in the Burb. I have no issues with shifting with the 3.23s. Perfect for my needs. Hauling the family around and a 4x8 HF trailer for our camping gear. The only time the 3.23s may be an issue is when I tow the race car to Tucson in October. But by the next year's race, the Suburban should be going again.
