I'm in the market for a lift for my '08 Z71. I've done a little research and have the 5" rough country lift pegged as the best option. That being said, when it comes to wheels I'm clueless. Currently I have a 2" level with the factory 18" z71 wheels with BFG 33" tires. My goal is to be able to keep the same wheels and when I wear my current tires out maybe bump up to a 34" or 35".

Anybody have experience with this lift, or have any other recommendations? My budget is around $2k for the lift but would consider spending more if it means not having to buy new wheels.

I’m not much help on this one but others will chime in that are more experienced with lifted rigs. Post up some pics please.

Factory wheel backspace and lift spindles are incompatible. You’d have to use spacers, or replace the wheels.

Everything I’ve heard about wheel spacers tends to be about them breaking. Have any you recommend?

@phaley99 That amazes me, I have ran wheel spacers on my 08 Z71 for the last year and have had zero issues, and before that I ran a set on my 89 Cherokee for years. Its the idiots who use ebay spacers and install them with a hand wrench complain when their wheels fall off on the freeway.

Get good hubcentric wheel spacers and install them correctly and you will not have a problem.
