2004 Yukon,5.3 flexfuel. Last July at 100k,miles fuel pump got noisy. Replaced with Delphi pump, new fuel filter. Things are good for 8 months. Last month we had a really cold week, single digit temps briefly. After that, the pump got noisy again, only 4k miles since replaced. Got a new pump, warranty, replaced it and filter again, new pump is noisy right off the bat. Replaced flex sensor, looking for a restriction,no difference. Have now put the old 4k mile pump back on,as it is a little less noisy than the new one. It seems like I have a restriction causing this noise?? Also, would the pressure regulator on the manifold cause a restriction?? Car runs great. Help.
Thanks.

Have you run fuel pressure checks? KOEO and KOER? If so, what are your readings?

Any trouble with long cranking before actual start?

the fuel pumps are sometimes just noisy on the gmt800's any replacement should be oem then you should be good for another 100k, there is nothing you can do about it except put another one in it.

Thanks,is Delphi a oem pump? That's what I'm using, and was recommended. Pump makes a high pitched whinning, squealing noise. Almost sounds like a vacuum leak, but it is definitely the pump.

they are one of the makers used by oem, I would recommend ac delco, normally the pumps do not not start whining till they hit 100k+, but sometimes before then, it's probably just dumb luck to get one that whines right away

Still have this issue. 3 warrantied Delphi pumps, all make the same screeching noise. Hard to believe 3 pumps would all be bad. Checked the fuel pressure, right at 50psi. Replaced the fuel pressure regulator,no difference. Car runs fine, pump just horribly noisy.
Any other suggestions? Thanks

Just curious if you ever found the problem? I am on my second Delphi on an 08 civic. Both screeched during prime. I feel like I’ve done something wrong even though it’s a no brainer job. Thank you.

Put a Delphi in an 05 Wrangler this past summer. Flawless! Bosch was the OEM and most preferred by the Jeep community but Delphi was the runner-up.
The Delphi I installed operated as expected. You could barely hear it prime when the ignition turned on. The rest of the time it was quiet as a mouse.
