Tis the season, this is the mod of all mods...my 3yo daughter actually thought of this one lol I'm still waiting to mount 2 deer in the roof basket and some LED Christmas lighting but they haven't been delivered yet

Out of curiosity, which products do you use to detail and for paint correction? I use Menzerna...is that what the pros are still using?

All of my paint correction products come from chemical guys. Their V line is fantastic. I have a some meguiars polish as well that works good. I like their detailers spray, but I also really like the Lucas oil slick mist. It’s a great detailers spray.

I never tried any of the chemical guys products before but a few people I know swear by it...I still use Zaino when I enter my other truck into a car show or cars and coffee events

It said your name because you were the last person to post in his thread at that time. It always shows the name and a preview sentence of who posted last, then it just picks a random pic to preview.

I took a few baby steps today toward removing the 6.0 from the Escalade...I only removed a few of the easy parts since I'm not really sure what should and shouldn't be removed when the engine gets pulled

It looks like I'm going to have to tackle this job alone or with a few more knowledgeable friends who actually know what they're doing...every mechanic I've talked to so far has quoted me over $3k to remove the 5.3 and an additional $3k to swap out the 6.0 ...gotta love NY, the city that keeps bending you over any chance it gets!

The Escalade is now a storage truck to keep all my parts in that still need to be installed lol

Nice. Well, disconn the battery, drain and pull radiator, fan shroud and all hoses, start unplugging electrical connectors and label each one. That’ll keep you busy for a few..wish i had time to help you.

I just replaced my 5.3 this past summer, I found these videos very helpful.

There are 3 parts and pretty detailed.

thats insane what they want to charge you to pull and replace for labor. youll be alright. take your time, label stuff take pictures etc..plus the gratitude of oing it yourself with friends is bonus

Galante is right. Disconnecting the harnesses is a big chunk of the work.

For me probably the most challenging part was the bell housing bolts. I found a really long extension ( like 3 feet or so) and go in from the tail end of the transmission towards the front to get at the bell housing bolts

Also don't forget the torque converter bolts. They suck without a lift.
