I have this set up already. If I disconnect the primary battery on the passengers side and try to start the car, it won't start. I initially wanted the aux. battery to be a back up for starting the car.GM part# 25825642 positive battery cable http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-25825...=UTF8&qid=1345638137&sr=8-1&keywords=25825642

10 x 1.5 x 25 mm bolt and washer -for alt neg cable ground
This is all that is needed plus batteries. The positive battery cable routes under the motor at the front of the oil pan near some other cables and includes clips to attach it to a plastic piece that already has holes in it for the cable clips. It then attaches to the starter on the same stud as the main battery.I attached the negative cable to the motor at a threaded hole in the head near the alternator. Exactly what i did plus bought 2 brand new diehard gold batteries..
Go back a few posts...
You need the tp2 rpo option then @intheburbs has it written up on here somewhere or there are a few ways to approach the dual battery setup.I have this set up already. I have a 2012 Tahoe ppv. It came with 2 batteries, both connected and working. Reason for is, police use a lot of power sitting in idle. Also have quite a lot of 'bells and whistles'. If you'll excuse the pun!! I have looked into this and found that the batteries run tandem to one another. Neither one is 'dominant' to the other. However, I have found that the battery on passenger side, seems to be favorable for the extra 'toys' the police use. Attached is photo of the top of passenger side battery.Yes, it IS an option for the PPV. It's usually a 730 CCA auxiliary battery. GM lists auxiliary battery cables, I believe they connect the two together, but since they list the auxiliary battery as 'isolated', there may be some relays required. If it's like our Caprice 9C1, it's a separate battery, used to power the ancillary power options, and not start the car.
IIRC, all Tahoes come with two trays, but you only get the battery and cabling if your truck has the optional auxiliary battery. I don't remember what the SEO option is for that.
