Drop springs and I made some shock extenders. They're cheap springs from eBay and they're pretty rough to be honest. In time I'll upgrade them

I have the belltech 5305 rear springs on mine and they ride nice. They’re 3” with the spacer they come with and 4” without.

Did you cut the bump stop mounts off yet aka free travel mod? If not then that’s probably the issue.

No I meant to look up and see how far others were cutting it down but just haven't had a chance.
So that being said, remove the whole thing?

You mentioned the rough ride, I have a 2012, and 2013 PPV's. The 13 rides harsh/rough, the 2012 rides nice. Not sure why there is such a difference.

I removed the entire thing and used small bump stops I got from energy suspension (actually came from my other car). Just need to be careful around the gas tank. Passenger side is a breeze.

I'll tell you one sure fire way to lower the rear end of a police Tahoe. Install swat box and load up 500 pounds of ammo, gear, kit ( plate holder ) and weapons. That will drop it quick. They were made with that in mind. Funny thing , they were made to be fast and very nimble with all that gear on board. Best truck I ever had. With all that weight it still runs 140 on the highway. No problems

You have to remove the WHOOOOOLE thing :) front to back. There's a few threads on here as well as Google that will show it in detail. I found it easiest to cut the outside with a cut-off wheel and reach through the opening with a Sawzall to get the inside BUT, remember (like mentioned above) be careful around the gas tank, it is very close to the front inner section of the drivers side bump stop.

I just put a piece of 1/8” steel sheet I had around between the bump stop and gas tank and used a cutoff wheel once I got rid of all the rest. Passenger side was easiest with a long saws all blade and then cleaned up with a flapper wheel

Final post on this thread as I am hoping the Tahoe sells in the next couple of days.

Just pics - that's all anyone wants to see anyway :)

What are you buying next?
I really haven't decided. I have Audi S4 too and may trade that in to get a truck. I'm in a weird spot mentally right now where I don't have any passion for my cars like I used to.
