Hi everyone, I was wondering if 12.9 mpg combined is normal on my Yukon with 150k miles. What can I can check, clean or replace on my Yukon for better gas mileage besides better diving habits. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Ignition: new spark plugs, coils, and wires (possibly upgraded as well)
Air: new filter/clean and oil if aftermarket KN style, and new PCV valve or if integrated valve cover style, remove and clean, also run some seafoam through the engine running
Fuel: try an injector cleaner of your liking

It is all relative to your rear gearing, your tire and wheel size if not stock, and like mentioned above a tune can always help!

It all depends man. My wife gets 2 mpg less than me with her style of driving than my way of driving. Which boggles my mind because i drive 70 everywhere i go unless in town of course.
Then there are location factors. Is it hilly or flat? High altitude or lowlands. All this plays into the formula.

I've gotten as low as 11-12 around town and 16-17 on the highway, generally getting 13-14 most of the time due to combined driving. I have an 04 Yukon 4x4 5.3 with 295/75/16 AT tires.

90% of it is how you drive, just the way it is. I can get 7.5 or 14 DEPENDING on how I drive.
Brake pads can last you 5 years or me 6 months DEPENDING on how I drive
lowering the vehicle and weight reduction can help in addition to how you drive

Driving style and weight carried if maintenance is good. For example both of mine have that engine and same gearing. in thecopcar I get 12.9, but I still have the weapon locker, full of camping gear, an 11 gallon tank of drinking water and a refrigerator. In theothertwin, I get 15-16, but I have none of the extras installed. It’s probably 500-600 pounds lighter. Theothertwin has 185k, thecopcar has 199k.

I often see others with higher mpg, but I probably drive harder.
