I never had these dash covers opened up, is it difficult to access the light sensor and harness? I want to mount a strobe light in the middle of the dash against the windshield and was wondering if the light sensor can be moved to one side or the other of it. I tried just mounting it right over it but it causes the radio and HVAC displays to go REALLY dim during daylight hours. I am not worried about the DRL and auto headlamp activation as I manually control that shit.

Any insight would be helpful, thanks.

The sensor mounts in the defroster cover strip which is seperate from the dash pad. Remove the A-pillar trims from both sides, then that strip can be popped off and the sensor and harness is accessible.

Unless you have one of those aftermarket one piece dash caps glued on to cover the cracks, then you gotta rip that off to get to the defroster cover strip
