So are the exterior rear view mirrors rebuildable? Both on my Yukon are a mess. Won't fold, glass will not adjust, and they shake like crazy. I did a quick search and didn't find anything on it.
Yes both the fold motor and the mirror are replaceable, dealer won't do it but you can only takes about 20 minutes to do a swap, if you do the repair only for the fold motor add some more time for disassembly to replace the gear which can be had for $15 off ebay
looks like prices on used ones are down right now, I see a "scuffed" one for $65, the caps you can just transfer over so the color doesn't matter, just be sure it is a DL8, if you have blind spot those will be a little more but you can rebuild yours with a good working DL8 you just move the glass and harness over to the replacement. and fitment are all the same 07-14 tahoe, yukon, escalade, avalanche, suburban. the key is DL8, if it is not noted then look at the picture if it has a puddle lamp then it is DL8, DL8+*** will be blind spot detection, which can also tell by looking at the mirror glass
