Thanks. I dont really have a choice but to fix it as I can't sell it with a bad head gasket and I need a car. I'm in Utah.

Still get a second opinion and DO NOT tell the next shop what the other shop found. You need to search for a good shop. Ask friends and relatives. If you have a relative or friend that has a great shop and they go in with you, that shop wants to do a good job because they don't want to piss off the relative that comes to them all the time.

In these times of a tech shortage, if you go in to a shop that does not look busy, they are likely doing sub par work. If you go in to a very busy shop, there is usually a reason.
