Anyone used or seen these in person?

Matchbox Mini retro Projectors.

Bases off of this site and image, they will go right into a NBS headlight with mo mods at all.
Looks to be a pop lense, drop them in, attach cover and route wires.
Align and Done..
No cutting, of bucket or any of the crap associated with the mini H1's
Depending on depth they might beable to be used in OEM fog housings as well.

^ lvs is right again ... these are tiny and are meant for fog light retros, but not NNBS fogs, cause there's no projector small enough to fit in there.

I havent used them. But pretty much anytime someone asks about them on HIDPlanet they all shut it down quick. Seems like no one over there likes them. Also those are 03+ silverado lights... completely different than yours.

Also being they use the threaded shaft as well, you may have to grind off the 9006 bulb locking ring.

Site listed in my first post is doing quad retro's with them.....

They slip right through a 06 ring, no grinding according to how the mini H1's fit..?
And yes I am aware those are silvy lights, aka I have a silvy... Dumped the Denali in favor of a truck.
Given their size they will also work in gmc flat headlights as well.

I stay on TYF for all the loving and helpfull members here. :win:

Now,

Why are they not used for headlights and why do ppl hate on them?

Just as a size reference, I fit the Blazer projector which is bigger than the matchbox, in the turn signal and DRL spots in the tahoe NNBS housing. I'll try to find a pic.

This is how small the Blazers are ... extrapolate from that what the matchbox projectors are for.

Serge did you run LED bulbs in those? were they bright enough?

I did and barely. The matchboxes weren't available at the time but they have a much better reflective coating inside them so they would have illuminated much better. Generally speaking tho, putting leds in projectors is going to limit output.

so,, again, why the hate on HID-P on using the matchbox's for headlights?

Because they aren't bright enough for primary lighting. Ok for golf carts and maybe some ultra compacts available in other countries, but for nothing more than fogs in the US. And even as fogs you'd only be doing it for baller status, because using HID projectors as fog defeats the purpose of fogs.

Mini H1's are to bug to fit in silvy low bucket without major hacking.
The blazer style need to be glued in.

Solution for a drop in, aka threaded mini projector. size similar to the matchbox.
