nevermind, i finally got it to work. sounds agressive as hell! now that you've had it a few more days you got anymore feedback on it?

also, how did you do your pipes? do you still have 1 out the side or did you dump it under the truck? pics?

I really like it. I can hear my GPS, talk on the phone, carry a conversation while cruising at 70 mph. And I really like the masculine sound it's got. I recorded the clip with my laptop built-in mic so when I revved it up, the mic distorted a little bit-making it sound a tad more aggressive than it actually is. It doesn't crackle or anything like that when it get's loud, stays nice n smooth.

As for the pipes, I just had him cut out the old muffler, put in the new one, and add an extension in there to make it work since the Magnaflow is way shorter than stock. The factory tip is still there still as well.

use electric cut outs and have one way quiet and the other nice exhaust that way it will sound good but on the interstate you can chainge to the quiet exhause the only downfal is a shit load of pipe under you car but it can be done

Narco, I have the Magnaflow without the resonator and there is drone at ~2,500 to 3,000 rpm depending on throttle input. To me it is not too bad, but if you do not want droning keep the resonator on or have one installed.

I think your better choice would be the Corsa Sport (if you could just find the muffler).

Just to give you an idea....

Here's my old magnaflow setup...18 inch straight through muffler

Here's my Flowmaster 40 setup, single in/out

0-70 Run with Flowmaster

Yes the Flowmaster is louder, it can also drone.....However I pretty much have control over when it drones. At highway speeds around 2k rpm, it's as quiet as the magnaflow.

Narco just get a 2.5" one, then the pipes on the ends of them can be widened to fit your exhaust real easily.
Or you can get 3.5" end on the muffler and just get the trucks pipes widened.

i found one that has the 3" inlet and the 3" outlet so thats fine. my issue is ive got 1 pipe in and 2 pipes out. im guessing i can order a magnaflow thats 1 in and 1 out and the muffler shop can still make it work.

next - what the difference in getting a center in and center out vs a center in and offset out? does it change the sound? which would better suit my needs?

heres what looks like a good deal on a center/offset

same guy has center/center, offset/offset for the same price w/ free shipping. thoughts?

I got the FM claasic 40 on mine. Mean as hell when you stand on the skinny pedal. Mellow at idle. A little drone at 2k rpms but with the radio on at 75 I don't hear it at all unless I get on it to pass.

Yea they took the aft Y off mine and ran all new 3" pipe all the way back with a 3" stainless tip swept out the side. Looks stock with a little somethin extra.

No it's all in all in the design of the car. They offset it to fit different frame layouts and configs. Between all the cars I've owned I've had all different config offsets and a 40 series is a 40 series.

I have a flow 40 and it sounds awesome. Drone sound isnt bad if your sitting in the front.

I used to work at O'reillys and by far the flowmasters are better then magnaflow. Magnaflows are just cheaper made.

If you were wanting quieter deffinantly go 50 series.

The offset vs. center inlet is basically performance based.

One of the reasons I bought the Yukon was because of the flowmaster. I wasnt gonna buy it because i was looking for a pickup. Then after I test drove it we were gonna go look around more. Then the guy that was trying to sell it to me drove off in it and I was like O YEAH! That thing sounds sexy!

I have 40 series flowmasters on my BBC oldschool and magna-flo on my Escalade for daily driver and magna-flo on my Z06. I can say the magna-flo are a bit more tame.
