Been the owner of my 04 YukonSLT 5.3l for about 3.5 years now. Havent driven it in 2 years due to deployment. But I am now in Germany, and it's on a boat, on it's way here.

I originally got the ieda to get the truck due to my mom (Lol, I know) allways talking about getting it once she retired. She recently passed away, and I was going to gift it to her after I finished paying it off next year. So I am keeping it for now, and finishing a few subtle modifications to it. I have allways been a sports-car / tuner guy, so I cannot leave good-enough be.

While in the US for a short duration, I went to get my Yuk out of storage, to find it was allready out of storage..... With an extra 12k miles on it, bald tires, and grinding brakes (the backs had 2mm deep grooves). The suspension up front needs new struts, and the interior had mud all over the place.

The "friend" that hooked me up with his dad's storage unit, totally jipped me, also stealing a few items from my lot where my 2 racecars were stored. So, in for a penny and out for a pound, I gave his dad one of my shotguns and 2hundred dollars to cover the extra year of storage for the cars, and told him that his son was out of control with much profanity and gestureing.

4 tires, and new brakes and about -1200 dollars later that day, I drove halfway across the country back to my Dad's house, which is close to a port on the east coast where military ship's their servicemember's autos overseas.

Yeah, the suck doesn't end here...

I seafoamed the engine and gas, put a quart of lucas fuel-system cleaner thru it, and replaced the plugs and filter en-route. This made a huge improvement in the MPG we were not-seeing in the first part of my trip..

Averaging 70mph cross-country and a little under 17mpg, I was happy.

Got to my destination and a few days later went to a local SAM's club to get items for the funeral reception at the house. Came back out with 2 carts of crap and my father pointed out a nice new scratch starting at the front driver's side bumper, touching everything all the way to the rear fender...... WTF. Not even 72hrs after finally getting my baby back and this S**t happens. So I hope USAA will fix my crap. (New paint job re-spray or a viynl wrap is in the near future I think......)

So anywhoo..
Had my sub's amp stolen too I then foundout..

Here's the list of to-do agenda;

-HID's for the low's. May retrofit a set of denali headlights with proper projectors..
-Chevy1500 SS Wheels
-Black-out or Viynl wrap the chrome front and rear bumper, as well as the sude boards.
-Niteshade the tail's and install some brighter brake-light bulbs

-Cam (ls6?)
-Head swap
-Longtube headers
-Cat-delete and full exhaust
-Re-wrap the front seats, replace rear carpet
-1.5in lift
-BB Tune

If I dont sell it here, I will play around with it some more with it after Afganistan.

Heres the other 2 cars.

1995 Nissan Skyline GTST. Not one thing on the car was left alone. It's in the shop getting a re built engine and new turbo on it at the moment. It has 315rwhp, now I am aiming for 440. It will be for sale in the spring because I can't ship it home or drive it in Afganistan;

2002 VW Golf 2.0. I had a friend tell me about this fleet vehicle being sold for super-dirty-cheap. My wife wanted a car, so I picked it up for her. I just wish it was a 4 door.

Welcome back soldier. Sorry to hear about all your bad luck, not something you expect to happen when you get back from being gone so long. I had my tahoe keyed a few weeks ago on the driver's side from the tail light all the way just past the mirror costing $1200 to fix. I've got USAA as well and since the damage was below $5000 my deductible was only $100. I just filed my claim online chose one of their recommended shops to do the estimate and USAA sent me a check. It was a very easy process, so just check out your insurance policy and see what you have.

Thanks for your service! It is embarrassing to hear when those that protect us, come home, only to get treated like shit. There have been 3 stories I can think of this summer in my area, where soldiers home/on leave were victims of crime, some violent.

Sorry to hear about your mother. Hopefully your luck turns around soon.
