Low RPM Whistle/Howl/Whine

Hey all,

It's been cold as heck in WI lately. On a few of these cold mornings, my '05 Hoe Z71 makes a whistle, although lowpitched at around 1500~1800 on the tach. Goes away as soon as you're out of that range, and only happens when it's freezing cold out. Definitely not a belt, any other ideas?

i noticed the same thing only mine started after installed a high current 250 amp alternator

possibly the alternator pulley?
