low coolant light

So today I hauled a car trailer 200 miles and at the end of today my low coolant light came on. Can't seem to find a leak anywhere under my Yukon so I'm afraid it might be time to buy an lq4 and wait on the5.3 to POP. Any suggestions?

Maybe it's just a slow leak in one of the hoses. I'd also check for coolant spots on bottom of water pump, maybe going bad.

thats a good idea...I forgot about that...I had a silverado do that a long time ago and the leak is supposed to be an early warning to a failure.

That was the first signs that my waterpump was failing!! Get under the rig with a flashlight and check the weep at the bottom of the water pump and see if it's leaking!

I had the exact same issue. Kept losing coolant but could find the leak. Replaced the water pump and no more problems.

How many miles did you all trucks have on them before replaceing the water pump?

Mine has 160k

I think I was around 110K, don't remember off hand though!

Did you guys have any other issues and was the water pump an low cost fix??

water pump isn't too bad expensive...If my memory is correct it was only 60-80 bucks after everything was said and done but I could be wrong.
