I went from an 08 Tahoe LTZ to 07 Escalade. Not sure if there are any 'cons'. Just more options. My Tahoe was loaded but I loved the 6.2L, 4 speed auto transmission to 6 speed manual transmission, upgraded nuance leather, going from a 6.5" to 8" nav screen, and escalade roof rack and tail lights. I ended up trading in the escalade back in may for an 09 Denali just to change up the looks, get something slightly newer, and now have bluetooth, power assistp steps, and mirrors with blind zone alert. It all depends on the features you're looking for and if you're goign from tahoe to esky you will definitely have way more of them, especially if you had an LT. GL with the new vehicle search!

Thanks for the reply felixgun, still up in the air about the trade( i have to convince the wife). I have only had to tahoe for 2 years.

Did you notice a difference in gas mileage going from the 5.3 to the 6.2?

I went from 07 Tahoe to Escalade. I do really love it and haven't noticed a huge gas mileage difference. I do love my Escalade though a ton more then the Tahoe.

I got about 14-15ish mixed city/highway on my tahoe and got about 11-12ish on the Escalade. My two vehicles now I get about 15mpg in my '11 Yukon that has a 4/3 leveling kit with 22's/33's with the 5.3L and 14mpg in my '09 Denali that has stock suspension and factory 20's/factory tires. So really really small differences honestly. You can group it all as really ****** gas mileage, but then again anyone buying these GMT900's isn't buying them for good gas mileage

had several Escalades for company cars and always thought they were a target when parked outside overnight.

Damn what a sweet company car! Someone stealing/breaking into a car would just as likely break into a tahoe :imo:

Thanks everyone for sharing....very true i did not buy the car for gas mileage, i was just curious. If I keep the tahoe im going to level it (CCM 2.5/1) and 33's. If I get the escalade im not sure what i will do.

My cousin traded a Denali for an Escalade and hated it, said insurance and cost of registration was a lot higher. He ended up trading back in for another Denali.

Wife had 07 Escalade a few years ago. Then I convinced her to trade it in for a C-class Mercedes because she didn't need the big thing. So, of course over the next almost three years, she kept complaining how awesome but way too small the MB is blahblahblah...

So... Just traded the MB for 07 Tahoe and she is again a happy camper. Main things I presonally miss from the Ecalade are the cooled seats and the power of the 6.2, but that's about it. Otherwise the LTZ has all the same equipment and the rest is just esthetics.

Gas mileage is about 2mpg better in the Tahoe. Even with the huge stupid 26" wheels it has. Will be downgrading those soon... One wheel is currently in the repair shop for a dent on the inside lip. After that they will be gone.

Biased opinion but Escalade for sure. I previously had '08 LTZ and '11 Denali. Similar but not the same

This is an old but GOOD thread. I am thinking about doing the same thing next year. I've been looking at 07-10 escalades. I think it's time for the 07 hoe to go
