Looking at doing work to exhaust

99 Tahoe 2WD 4DR

Guy at work who seems to know what he is talking about was informing me about exhaust... This is what we came up with...

Looking at getting this exhaust from eBay:

Then "dumping" dual pipes just before rear axle. He also suggested making the pipe 3 inches just before the cat's

What do you think?

You'll hate the dumped exhaust pretty quickly.

I thought Votecs already had 3 inch Y pipes ...

The only 3 inch I have comes "out" of the muffler...

Can I ask why? Ill hate them quickly. I have never seen, heard or had them... So I do not know what I am getting into...

Only thing I have ever had done to any truck, was putting Glass Pack on 95 Silverado with a V6. Wasn't as loud as I thought.

They sound fine just sound a lil loud. Mine are cut round back seat area and are sorta loud inside but i like it and am redoing it soon with my long tube headers

The drone and exhaust seeping into the cab will make you hate it. They have their place, on race cars, not street trucks.

I would think the exhaust being so close to the side window, especially on a 2 door, would be a bad idea unless it never sits still while running.
