Ugly? I wouldn't call it ugly...just saw one in person this morning in black and have to say they look much nicer in person...kind of LandRover'ish. Folks thought the current GM trucks were ugly as ever when released in 2014. I still think the caddy has the "looks" even though I hate the rear. I do think ford will ****** a lot of sales this time around especially given the issues plagued with the GM trucks last couple years.

Man, that looks like an even upper scale Range Rover!

I agree, they’re definitely going to take some market share away from GM. But that’s not a bad thing cause it’ll force GM to come out with an even better, more compelling product than they might have. It’s good to keep auto manufacturers on their toes.

Which trim Navigator did you get and what was the price? Are they offering discounts yet?

I haven’t seen one in person yet. They look decent, not nearly as good as a new Denali but ok, at least from the pictures.

I agree the back end is not its strong point. But, does look better in person as does the whole vehicle IMO. I wasn't sold until I saw in person and took it for drive. Very impressed

I’m sure they’re super nice. Being all new and FoMoCo deciding to finally give a shit about their full size suvs, they should be “nice”.

BUT for me, I find them unattractive. Especially the Expedition. That thing looks like a blown up Explorer (not a good thing).

Interior is nice on the Lincoln but again the styling isn’t for me.

Right now I’m between a 2018 Range Rover or XL Denali. But the Fords didn’t make the cut, personally.

I'm curious, did you go look at the Expedition/Navigator in person or are you basing this on other factors like technical specs you don't like... I haven't seen or sat in one, only seen pictures.

I think LINCOLN lost me at starting at $93,235...just a little hard to wrap my brain around that price... plus a minimum 10.00 sales tax...

Yes, I agree that's way to high a price. I bet less than a year from now $10-20k incentives will be the norm. In n.VA they charge a lower sales tax on cars than other products. Regular sales tax is 6%, cars are 4.15%.

Just ordered a 2018 Navigator after having a total of 6 Denalis and Suburbans. The 8 speed trans has been a night mare for myself and many others
It could just be time for a change after that many GMs, which is not unreasonable. Ford has nice products too.

That said, it seems to me that Ford and GM are both playing from the same deck of cards and it's irrational to expect a materially different reliability experience from one or the other. At least in the aggregate. Both are manufactured primarily of domestic components, on domestic (or Canadian?) lines using union workers. Similar price points, the shareholders of both companies have similar profitability expectations. I'm being broad here, but the markets are extremely efficient and you can rely on every company to use their resources to maximum advantage.

If you were defecting to Toyota, you might be able to point to some substantive reasons why you can expect the product to be better. Or South Korea, which is working with a completely different relationship model between car companies and workers.

Enjoy your Navigator; the new model looks great to me. I bet you'll have a couple issues with it too, but it will probably be more reliable than previous vehicles you've owned, which would also be true if you bought another GM. They are all much better than they used to be.

I’ve looked at them both in person, sat in the Expedition because it was unlocked. Local dealer has 2 of each.

If those made you puke the tahoe/Yukon’s must make you jump off a bridge.

They are virtually identical expect for the tailgate and interior.

(Tailgate much worse interior much better).

Does it make you wanna jump off a bridge? You have a Yukon Denali, right?

I've seen many expeditions on the road and will say outside of the platinum/limited pkg, they look very plain and blah...although I'd say that about a base tahoe, burb, yukon as well.

Nope. I think the yukon is very good looking and because the ford/lincoln is a virtual clone I think its very good looking as well.

Will absolutely be test driving the Lincoln.
