Liftgate Switch

I've seen quite a few posts on liftgate issues. However, mine is a little different. Everything works as advertised with the exception of the interior switch overhead. I've swapped it out and still nothing. Yes, I did make sure it's not off lol. When I do cycle the switch, the instrument cluster does tell me I've turned it off. Any thoughts or ideas I can look into?

I checked for chaffing where the wires go through the liftgate. I am stuck like Chuck.

It's the liftgate switch.
