no probelm here, adjust mirror properly, use eye's, turn and look if need be.
* pro tip if you move your head you can see even in the blind spot, your view is only limited by where you are looking
passenger mirror is made aspherical because you cannot really move just your head to see the entire view, hence the passenger side view is enlarged.

We have a European standard of mirrors. The left mirror is the same as the right one. Therefore, we just have mirror masters cut out a tedious element for a specific car from a piece of mirror, then you come to it, they remove the American left mirror, peel off the heated interior from it and glue it to a European mirror. And put it back. All this takes 20 minutes of time. It costs about $100

there have been some close calls, lol
once I ran into a post base, but some person had removed the post and left the base so it was below my field of view and I had parked in front of it and didn't realize it.

#1. My mirrors are adjusted so that the sides of my vehicle just disappear from view. This way, a vehicle coming up from behind will move from the rear view mirror to your side view mirror. By the time the vehicle passes out of view in the side mirror, it will be visible out my side window.

#2. It is my responsibility to be always aware of what is around me at all times. Every few seconds I do a quick scan of what is behind and beside me.

#3. I keep enough distance between me and the vehicle in front that if it were to brake suddenly, I have time to stop. Additionally, I try to keep an escape route available at all times (to the left or right). The following distance also allows me to do a quick shoulder check towards the lane I am planning to move to. If shoulder checking puts me in an unsafe situation, I am either following too closely to the vehicle in front, or I am driving too fast.

I have never had or caused an accident due to shoulder checking. In fact, shoulder checking has prevented an accident.

Pulling a trailer from BC to CA and through LA taught me a lot about being aware and scanning. When pulling trailer, you don't have the same stopping distance or maneuverability.

I wished I had saved a dash cam video of a semi driver that must have been falling asleep going up the Grapevine. He almost sideswiped another semi trying to pass him. I chilled and stayed behind him the whole time, with a ton of distance.
