So I did the LED upgrade on my 04 Tahoe. Started with doing the interior lights, map, dome, puddle lights. Then decided I wanted the dash lights upgraded, so I got my blue LEDs and did all dash lights, to include hvac and steering wheel controls. Pics below I know kind of hard to see sun was still out.

The hardest part of the steering wheel controls was just getting them out and back in and connected to the harness. The upgrade was easy, two little square patches for each light.

That's what I was talking about. Connecting them back together is near impossible because of the design from gm lol

This is truth as I just experienced. Fishing line, needle nose pliers, tugging, swearing, laughing and finally CLICK! lol
Love this interior look with all blue and do want!! Nice work.

Got bulbs and resistors off amazon link below plus more as the first batch didn't have enough, did it myself an DC with soldering iron solder Flux and my own time was less than about 50 bucks.

The last set of lights I got was a 100pc set of blue 3mm flat tops to finish up

Hey there Archer04, I'm a little confused. I know your post came after the sticky on LEDs, but it appears those LEDs are PNP, so how do you install the ones you bought? Did you take the original bulbs out of their base and re-use the bases so they plug back into the bulb sockets?

Also how did 100 bulbs not do the job? Is the kit assorted sizes and you needed more of a particular color, size or voltage?

Not PNP. His is an 04, so it's different than your 01, as well. I think your 01 might still have bulbs that you can simply replace with LED in your cluster, at least. The buttons, switches, etc will all be tear down, solder in the LED and resistor jobs. Look up @ScottyBoy's write ups. They are both here and on GMFS.
