I have a 16' Z71 Suburban. The LED's are only on when parked, parking lights manually turned on and/or the auto headlights. During daylight, the LED's turn off and the headlights come on....... I want the LED's on during daylight. I ordered the below harness today and going to try it:

Wow please let me know if that works. I guess the important question is if it bumps up the brightness. I've noticed that the LTZ's DRL is brighter when they're on by themselves than the LT's "Parking light" DRL.

Let us know how the install goes and maybe a photo.

They are SO bright on the LTZ too. What a letdown.

No, the brightness is exactly the same. If you really want them on during the day, the simple workaround is to turn your fog lights on. The LEDs come on with them.

I don't have fogs. Also, i could have sworn that the brightness on the LTZ DRL led strips were brighter than the 'parking brake' LT ones. Are there any side by sides?

No, they are not the same! The LED DRL'S on the LTZ are twice or three times as bright as the running lights on the LT. Not even close.

You can check out this harness:

http://www.gen5diy.com/Chevrolet/Tahoe/Tahoe-LED-DRL-Harness/

LED power will be the same power as nighttime power and will not have the brighter LED, that the LTZ has, due to the fact that the LTZ headlights are actually different. Nightime function will remain the same, you just gain the added look of the LED's during the day. There is no programming needed and install is very simple.

I got my led headlights kit installed yesterday. They look perfect!
These ones I have are 6200 lumen per bulb. I spent about $150 with 1 day shipping on the entire kit. I have 5500k color so it could match my headlight line in led.

This is where I got my led headlight low beam kit from and it also work for the fog lights

Is there any way to get into the programming module to set the LEDs to DRLs on LT models? Given they share the same equipment, its got to be a setting that just needs to be flipped somewhere in the programming module.
Did you ever figure this out?

I assume this is Chevy's way of promoting the upscale LTZ version. You have to pay more for the modern look.....they suck! You can turn your dial to Parking and the LED's alone come on but of course you lose the auto on/off headlight feature.

I don't get it. Is this different between '15 and '16? My '16 LT turns on the LED strip for DRLs. I thought that was "normal"?

Kpwweb- I have a 2016 LT as well and my LED's are NOT my daytime running lights, it only comes on at night when my actual headlights turn on. Do you know why ours are different?

Finally got around to installing the harness. Pretty straight forward, hardest part was getting the plug off of the LED strip.

Now, the LED'S are always on when the truck is on, even if I turn the headlight switch to the off position. If I try and turn on the parking lights, the headlights come on. But, I wss aware of that before installing.

So, this harness works as advertised, headlights are off during daylight driving, and just the running lights are on.

Good to hear. How bright are the leds during the day? I was told the led strip on the LTZ are brighter because the headlights are different.

Yeah, not as bright.
Turn on your parking lights during the day to get an idea. I'd say about half as bright as the LTZ.

My thought was that if someone doesn't see a truck as big as this because the drls aren't that bright, they deserve to get t-*****

Just dropped the truck off at the dealer for an oil change and a few other things. Noticed that half of the passenger drl LED'S are out. I told them about it, then thought about the harness I have on for the DRL strips. I'll see what they say about it in the morning I guess
