i've had 4.30's in my head all this time Max, i usually drive highway miles between 70-85 is usually what i do so i think 4.30 will be slightly lower on the RPM range then 4.56's. What gears do you recommend i've talk to ron's machine shop and he said motive gears.. is the way to go.

I have 3.73's and love them. The radix makes plenty of low end torque, so I really don't think you need to gear it that low, plus it will kill your highway mpg. And it will be very loud on the highway if you have an exhaust or headers since you'll be higher up in the rpm band.

I break the tires loose at 40mph with the stock converter, so if I had 4.56's, that would probably be 50-60mph and pretty pointless for a street truck.

He has some heavy ass wheels which is why I recommend the 4.56s. My friend justin had the exact same setup as him on an lq4 in his denali and he was running about 2700rpm @ 70mph down the highway with 4.56 stock converter, big wheels on these trucks need a lot of gear. You are 2wd right Junior? I like yukon, g2, or motive gears. I have g2 in my truck and they are nice and quiet.

the truck is already loud with LPP headers Custom 3" pipe and No Cats.. Last night i broke loose at 20MPH with my 24's

I'm on 2 wheel drive Max, I do have Heavy and i mean Heavy wheels I'm thinking estimated weight is about 100 Lb + per rim, which equal about 32.4 Tall tire.. 70 @ 2700 RPM is Waaaaaaaaaaay to high for me remember i haul my kids around and we do go on long trips so that would just be insane for me to be on a 2700 RPM range.. i want to stay at 2500 RPM @ 70-75 on stock im at 2150-2200 RPM range. with 3.73 Gears. so either I'm thinking 4.30's or even 4.10 Some people say 4.10's would pretty much put me back to stock and 4.30's will give me that extra edge....

A couple of my buddies tell me to take the 24's out and it would be a way different animal....

2700 isn't shit, I get 19-20 highway with awd and an inch shorter tire. 4.30 is a happy medium if you are concerned but I don't regret my decision one bit.

4.56 on a 31" tall tire. I plan to get the new TVS maggy kit but didn't feel the 4.10 was enough to merit a gear change which is why I went with the 4.56. I love them and can't wait to see what they do with the blower.

Checked this morning and I'm running 2400 rpm @ 70mph.

Thats about what cruise at with a locked converter, 4000 rpm stall converter, 4.88s, 32" tires behind the vMax engine.

Travieso you have a nice setup. You have to think, you have a twin screw supercharger, you make broad power, you have instant tq. You dont need a low gear. Maybe 4.30s max. If its on back order get some 4.10s.

High rpm combo that I and others may have, well a centrifugal style supercharger be better and take advantage of the fast rpms. Something like a Procharger for me D1. Makes for a mid-top end killer. But its awesome cause your still geared low. Wicked. ;)

You are so right Man, I've been so indecisive/confused about what gears to go with, the truck will only see the track maybe 2-3 out of the year, it's mostly a weekend truck and i do take the truck for long trips, it would be very annoying to hear my exhaust or the truck revving at above 2500RPM, does of you know, having a Supercharger/Longtubes and No Cats with a 3 inch exhaust gets very loud.. But then again would i really notice the difference with 4.10's ? is the question i would like to know.. I've driven my buddy's truck with 4.30's on a 32" tire and the truck felt really responsive.... HELP !!!!!!

Man, thats nice. Soooooo any vids yet?

Here you go... :Handshake:

Should have alot more in it than a 9 sec 1/8th given your mods even with the 24's. Who is doing your tuning? You had it on the dyno yet?

yeah the 24's do take a toll on parasitic drivetrain loss, but i've always had a thing for going fast and looking good, anyways On November 4th a couple of buddy's and I are gonna be going to Famoso Speedway i will be removing the 24's and rolling either with some 17's-20's i should have my gears and TruTrac by then and we will see what she really does on the 1/4 Mile im shooting for low 13's

My Tuner is a local Tuner know as Wottuning Had some Issues with Justin, that's a different story but He's got it dialed in Very Good.

Nice, in for results! You have it tuned for E85? If not, you should look into it if you have access to it. Might have to up the injectors, I'm on 75# ones and they're at their limit.
