In case anyone is looking at doing a dual battery setup with Kentiks, here is what i did.
- HC2400 in the driver-side battery tray (this is too big by the way).
- HC2000 in the stock passenger-side battery tray.
- Stinger 200 amp isolator relay
- Kicker Hyperflex 0-gauge throughout
- Stinger 200 amp circuit breakers
- 250 ** alternator w/ overdrive pulley
Works great, no lights dimming no matter how much i pound the hell out of the system. I also love the fact that I can park, listen to the system while the wife shops and not have to call AAA for a jump start anymore.
I had a hell of a time finding the RAP (Retained accessory Power) connection in order to make things work. Basically the audio system (iPad in the dash, no radio btw) works like stock now with key in the accessory position. This is all working off of the HC2400, with the relay isolating the HC2000. Once I put the key in Ignition mode, that closes the circuit and allows the alternator to charge the HC2400 and the HC200 at the same time.
Let me know if anyone has questions, i wish there was a post around showing me all of this information when i first started. I know that I still need to find a way to protect the exposed positive posts and terminals, so suggestions are welcomed.
