so im thinking of running 2 12" L7's behind the 3rd row seats in a custom ported box. i was wanting to see what you guys thought of running 2 or just maybe one?

this is also the vehicle that my 1 1/2 yr old son rides in. but i will have a bass knob. but i was wondering how one would sound by its self?

That was my exact setup minus the custom box. Definitely gave some ground-pounding bass but didn't have any distortion. I feel like one would be alright however. I never tried it.

your gonna have a hard time fitting that back there behind the third row seat. two sundown SA10's in a ported box on an SAZ-1200 or even 1500 would slam back there and cost much less. http://www.sundownonly.com/sa-series/

coming from a previous owner of a 15" L5, i would stay away from the square subs. too many other way better subs out there for the price. my one SA12 is MUCH cleaner/louder than my 15 l5 could ever be.

One is more then enough. I've owned several Kicker L7's in the past and I love em. I'd definitely buy one again.

I have too agree with you on this. The problem with square subs are first they can't be reconed with out extra headache. Secondly is that the surround tends to rip in the corners during high excursion.

But by all means if you already have the L7 go for it. If not I would look at other options.

For what it's worth, I had my kickers in my trunk in the Texas heat over summers (aka rubber dries out) and never had a problem with the corners ripping. I had them for over 2 years (and believe it or not they survived the car accident in my album as well)

Ok i figured i would include a lil more info for the audio guys to help me out.
so my and my wife both like bass. but i prefere the lows over anything. i really want to keep the box as low (hight wise) as possable. but i dont mind it being big. so im not really stuck on any specific subs or amp. now i would prefer to get stuff that matches, but it doesnt have to. so if you guys can give me more suggestions. just FYI im running a Pioneer FB900 H/U

Keep in mind (generally) the bigger the sub, the more air you need... and between your 3rd row and the liftgate, there's only so much room until you have to start going up

To add to that also remember if you run more power you can run a smaller box. So if you got a single 10 rated for 1000 and ran a 2k amp you could run a smaller box. so just get a single sa-10 or 12 and a 1200 or 1500watt amp and you would be good.
