Key fob low message reset

I got the key low battery message yesterday on the DIC. Replaced battery. Still got the message after several trips and trying a (tested) new battery. Found another forum to turn the key to on and press unlock button on the fob when the message comes up, seems to have done the trick. Strange since I e replaced battery a few times in the last 8 years and never had the message persist like that. Hopefully this will help someone out.
