Ok, so I did go with the 9980hd, picked up a great amp, and throwing in 13 12's in the back with a pretty standard box. Eventually i want to upgrade to a custom speaker set-up, like a fiberglass custom type deal and next will be i'm thinking 4 flush screens.... Now it's on to exterior upgrades. Modded, you have me inspired! i've been doing the black on black but i think you have set the bar, but watch out......... I'm on the come up! HA!

I bought a 6980 for my C6 back in April for $1100 from Double D Mods. Now they offer a $100 rebate. You can now get the 9980 for about $1200 from him. This included the whole install package for the C6 (SWC, chime module, bezel, etc).

I love my Kenwood. 9980 has some advantages but for me it wasn't worth the $400 jump. Make sure you phone works with the unit you decide though.

Also make sure you go with a Kenwood authorized dealer (DD mods is) otherwise you are in trouble if something goes wrong and you didn't.

The DNX9980 is installed and working.... and let me say this, it is absolutely worth the money! I'm guessing after about a week or so I will find some things that I'm not a fan of, however as it is right now, i'm 110% happy with it.

Was anything required specially to get it all working?
I heard or well my google searching makes it seem like a special adapter is needed to get the harnesses and features like on stearing controls, etc. working.

Any help would be great,
Thanks
Jon
