Just a thought about a charger idea

Anyone seen those chargers where you just lay your stuff on top and they charge it? Do those work?

Well if they do I was thinking of trying to incorporate one into my kons center console.. (the hatch that pops up) you know the black center? My wife and I toss our phones on there.. Seemed like a good idea today while I looked at her Iphone and my Hero resting there lol

I hate our mess of chargers all in the way.. Looks tacky

That would be pretty sweet! You have to get a backing or a battery cover replacement that has some little sticker device that goes with the pad. Check best buy. They are a little pricey right now. Maybe in a while the price will drop

I don't believe they make those with 12v adapters yet either, so you would also need an inverter. Also how would you keep them from sliding off the pad?

You would probably have to cut a hole out and do a custom mount. It would be doable, might take some time though. Just stick the inverter under the cup holder area that you can pull out.

Great idea. Friend has the mat for his Wii controllers. I am not ready to make my devices larger though. I am holding out for true wireless charging!!!

Yeah probably need a good inverter.. I love pure sine verters.. but damn costly..

I got my converter at Wally World, black and decker I think. Works good so far! Let us know if you ever end up doin this, think it would be pretty sick!

Check out Powermat ... They make induction charging stuff like that for all kinds of stuff ... No exactly cheap but it's doable.
