I asked this a while back in a forum of a different subject so it got buried with no replies.

I replaced the headlight/interior dimmer switch panel a month or so ago with one I got from (I think) a 2013 since mine only had two lights still working. All the lights work on the new one, but the color of the one in the dimmer knob has that ugly incandescent yellow tint while the others are the teal color found everywhere else. Is this how they are or is mine messed up?

Speaking of interior things, I learned something new recently. Apparently, they changed the design of the driver door switch panel trim. My neighbor had to replace the one in his '09. He bought a used one of FB Marketplace from a newer model ('11, IIRC). He realized this when he went to install it. The original is in his hand and the one from the newer model is laid in the door. He swapped the switches, etc. into his trim piece and it all worked just fine:

My switch is all blue - 25858705

The door handle changed in 2010, they are longer so that part is shorter. Our door panels are better/stronger, those door handles break all the time.

I bought two front door panels from an 07 for my 12 Yukon just last week. FedEx is taking their sweet time so I don't even know if they're in usable condition yet.

The headlight switch in my 2011 looks just like the one you have pictured. Blue with amber.

I didn’t know that was a solution. I was inclined to live with my busted handle with the zip tie dix I did.
The panel was pristine in one of mine. The other was busted up terribly. I ended up doing some ugly fab with some bed frame steel. That gives me a solid door pull.

So they changed for the WORSE? Maybe this partly explains why mine has never even shown any indication of failure.

Apparently, this also changed for the worse. But I'm glad to know it's not because something's wrong cuz I don't feel like tearing that thing back apart. For $30, I might just get a new one since I have a part number. Thanks James! @swathdiver

Well, maybe they changed to a larger handle as a result of customer feedback? Also the design underneath is slightly different and one might say better for wider folks! Whatever the case, durability suffered.

they’ll fit. Mine are off a 2008 Escalade. Gotta change the trip pieces though

The Escalade door panels can only be used if you don't have heated and ventilated seats. Those buttons are in the HVAC control on an Escalade so the door handles are smaller and a Tahoe/Yukon door handle with those buttons won't fit. It would have been easier to find Escalade door panels than it was to find Denali door panels. The panels I bought came in the other day and are in ok shape but the driver one has a small cigarette burn so I'm worried they'll smell. The passenger side got damaged because of how they packaged it but I'll probably end up using them whether the seller offers me a partial refund or not since there are only a couple of other ones on eBay and they're 2x-3x the price and don't look to be in better shape. I also have to decide what I'm doing for the window switch trim. I think most of the 07-09 trims are discontinued and most eBay sellers are only selling them with the window switches and wanting as much as I paid for the whole door panel. Not sure If I want to suck it up and pay it to get the correct Denali pieces or just have my spare set of Escalade trims painted satin black like it did for my Escalade.

2010-2014 - This happens to be a Denali's door panel.

2007-2009 - This happens to be a Sierra's door panel, probably an SLT.

I always refer to the different door panels as the 'inny or outty' style. Haha
It always bugged me that they changed the front door panels but left the rear ones the same through all years.

Couldn't the handle trim piece be swapped out with the Tahoe/Denali one that has the switch for the seats, then the escy panel would work?

That whole handle is smaller on the Escalade, especially on the passenger side which has no buttons at all.

Yea, i had to replace the handles too. Have to replace the triangle window piece for the side mirror and the piece behind the arm rest.

Good to know I don't need to be on the lookout for newer panels! Thanks for the details.

I don't see how that is possible. Here is a comparison between the Escalade and Yukon door panels, it is clear the Yukon door handle is larger to fit the seat heater buttons.
