Instant MPG on cluster / DiC?

Does anyone know how who what why when where this thing is obtained?

On my suburban and tahoe, I've the AVG MPG yes as well as Instant Econ

None of my Yukons have the Instant Econ unfortunately which I'd love. My 05 XL or Denali all lack the Instant Econ.

Is it a pin out or additional wiring thing or specific cluster eeprom programming or some feature necessary in the ECM?

I’ve used this guy several times. He is great and inexpensive. He rebuilds the entire cluster. New stepper motors, LEDs, reflows solder for the power supply. He loads the latest software onto the cluster, which enables the instant economy.
